Making Government Operations More Open »

Make available online, the cost of all presidential travel.

Why Is This Idea Important?: The American people have the right to FULL disclosure of these costs. If the President expects them to sacrifice, then he needs to fully disclose how much of OUR money is being spent, for HIS life style.

While President Obama tells the American people that they are going to have to sacrifice, he and his family take full advantage of the office. This "Date Night" travel is costing the tax payers millions! The average person has no idea what goes into a trip to Chicago for dinner. Two AF one's, several helicopters, limos, all the maintenance for the above, plus the security; the cost is staggering.

  1. Why do silly citizens think they have the right to know what our enlighttened and honorable politicians do with the taxpayer's money? One of the problems with democracy is that the little people get an opportunity to ask questions of their betters - the wonderful politicians who make America great.

The problem is that most Americans are too stupid to realize that the president doing anything costs tens of thousands of dollars and it's absolutely necessary. I suspect the nature of this request is to mislead the public about the cost of Obama's travel. Conservatives seem to have a very short memory/attention span these days. I like it. Stay marginalized!

?? How many times before getting the free rides on Air Force-1 and Marine-1 did Mr. & Ms. Obama hop on a commercial jet and fly from Chicago to New York just for a "Date Night" ??

It is one thing for POTUS to take a legitimate vacation using Air Force-1 and Marine-1, but it is another to abuse the privilege. It is very hard to justify given the current economy and the trillions of dollars we are in debt and the billions of dollars in annual deficit.
