The reason that most societies are against incest is that there is an increased risk of birth defects and genetic abonormalities. If two gay brothers want to get married, why shouldn't they? They won't have to worry about having children, and who loves you more than your family?

Why should the government be able to tell people that brothers and sisters can't marry? If they have no intention of having children, then that eliminates the main argument against incest.

The history behind marriage and extending rights to the wife was that the woman typically stayed home to care for the family, while the husband provided for the family. Since the wife stayed at home, she had no way of having healthcare and other benefits on her own. That is why companies provided benefits to the spouse of employees. There is no reason that a company should have to pay benefits for a same sex partner. There is no reason to justify giving same sex partners benefits. They can go out and get a job themselves. Society benefits from a man providing for his family. It keeps society from having to support that family. There is no societal benefit from gay marriage.

Almost every right that gay people say they are denied by not being married can be gotten from other legal methods. Wills, living wills, etc. can take care of this. Gays say that the government is denying there rights to be with the one they love. There is nothing preventing them from living together and spending their lives together. If it was only about rights, they would be happy with civil unions. It is really about getting societal exceptance. Keep your bedroom out of society.
