Can't this administration throw some corrupt banksters in jail?

Why Is This Idea Important?: Because...

I'm not sure that all of the rest of them walking wall street are squeaky clean. All that federal money for all of those regulators and special investigative units and we've yet to make a dent in the corruption. I'd like to see one thrown in jail every few days - they're out there - I'm sure of it.

Hello? Dont you think the politicians aren't in cahoots with the bankers? Barney Frank, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi?

Here's the big kid reality: Bankers, Lobbyists, Unions, etc, etc... are all out for themselves. Thats reality. If Politicians were not so damn corruptable, they could fend these forces off. But they cannot help themselves for their lust for power and money. So they get bought out by these special interests. And then the Politicians dare stand up and criticize? They are all dirty and they need to be thrown out. If we had clean politicians, we would have a balanced budget, a small and fair tax code, and an unprejudiced legal system. It is as simple as that. Doesn't matter what party is in control - they are all the same.

The media does a good job of diverting attention and vilifying the innocent. And of course the bulk of people believe everything they hear.

The fact is that Congress pushed hard for banks to provide mortgages to people that could not afford them. This loose lending combined with teaser rates resulted in a boom in home sales which drove the prices up. This of course was not sustainable, and the boom went bust. New home owners could not pay their mortgages so the loans started failing. This resulted in huge loses by the banks. Yes, the banks LOST money. The media and gov warned up potential bank failures, which caused runs on the banks. This caused the banks to fail in some cases and nearly so in others. So in steps the Gov and forces money on the bankers, even if they did not need the money. Oh, and that money, is our tax dollars. Now that confidence by people has improved the banks are making huge profits.

Bottom line, the Banks and Bankers are not to blame here, it was the meddling of congress. And now that congress is meddling exponentially, we are in for some serious hurt.
