Making Government Operations More Open »

Stop removing people's ideas just because there is controversy.

Why Is This Idea Important?: When you can't have open discussion about ways to further open government, on a site specifically built to further that cause, it makes you wonder exactly what this administration is trying to HIDE. Open government ... who did they think they were kidding???

This is doing nothing to further open government if we can't use this site as intended. It is absolutely pathetic that we can't have an open discussion of ideas without censorship. If people do not agree, that is what the discussion area below the idea is for. We can't even have talk of open government on a website specifically built to further the cause of it. Wow.

We are leaving posts unrelated to open government on the site and deleting the top transparency issue of the 1961 birth certificate of the sitting President? What does legalizing pot have to do with open government? We are being misled.

  3. This site has been rigged so that the posts asking for Obama to support transparency by providing his own birth certificate, health records and college records are not properly counted, even if they do not get deleted.

It is possible to review this site to find the most rquested ideas by scanning "Top Rated" posts.

According to the liars running this website the most requested item has NOT been Obama's birth certificate.

"luvwith," I only posted one idea for that issue. Do not blindly accuse me without looking at what I've posted. Do not get me started on how others have posted multiple times. It's pathetic, immature, and annoying. I am not them. I am an individual, who had an idea that I thought would contribute to more open government and lend the president some(apparently) much needed credibility. *I* believe it is an issue so *I* posted it. I have the right to express my views and will continue to do so, in a respectful manner. Take your attitude elsewhere as I will not put up with it.

Now for my response yet again. Response five and counting.

I will make the exact same response to this as post as I will for every single one of them on this site.

I say again "Because it is annoying to have to read through these posts when they have absolutely nothing to do with the purpose of the site.

It prevents people who want to discuss how to make government more transparent from doing so because they are wasting time reading through posts that don't serve any purpose. This isn't a place to ask the administration questions or to make specific policy proposals."

    @Nathan Poe,

You are rude and I don't have to put up with this and neither do others. We don't have to have a jerk waste our time.

We come here to contribute and you waste our time posting the same idea over so we have to scroll down. It's the height of rudeness and hubris.

This will be my sixth response to this same post and all I did was click on "new posts" since I last visited and every last one was this spam. This isn't the first time this has happened to me either. I am sick of it.

"luvwith," I only posted one idea for that issue. Do not blindly accuse me without looking at what I've posted."

He was referring to you violating the rules of this site and not checking to see if this idea had been posted before and avoid duplicates.

What part of "(1) Search for Ideas to make sure that your idea or area of interest hasn't already been covered. (2) Vote, Vote, Vote! Your votes are critical to ensuring that the best ideas "bubble up" to the top. (3) Add Your Idea by clicking on the "New Idea" button to the left and (4) Spread the Word! E-mail a link to this website to your network, and invite them to get involved" don't you seem to understand?

    Is it # 1?

You refer to censorship in your post but it it isn't censorship to me when I'm the one who is having my time wasted.

Removing duplicate posts because others are to arrogant or lazy to use a search engine and to contribute to an already existing idea simply by commenting on it isn't censorship. If you want to discuss this idea post it to the same idea which already exists. That is why we have a comment feature on this site. The post an idea isn't to be used as a COMMENT feature.

"I have the right to express my views and will continue to do so, in a respectful manner."

It is not respectful of my time to post the same idea that has already been posted. It is rude.

"Take your attitude elsewhere as I will not put up with it."

Why don't you take your attitude elsewhere and stop spamming people because I will not put up with it.

    Edward,

I posted this idea once, for the record. The rules were taken into consideration, though admittedly, I didn't look at all of the other posts before I posted mine. Though, if I would have looked, which spam post should I have picked to add my thoughts to?? Why weren't the others removed as duplicates? Why was my post removed and then revived two days later if duplicates were a problem?? I fail to see why the rules matter if the moderators aren't following them, but that's just me. I do not have an attitude, but if someone gets rude with me, I will stand up for myself.

I did not take into consideration your personal convenience when I posted. Get off my back. At least I'm not spamming and I make my points clearly and coherently, which is more than can be said for so many other posts. This site has real potential if the moderators start being fair and consistent and people follow the rules and stop with the personal attacks and offensive comments.

All I'm seeing is the removal of spam and posts that have nothing to do with the purpose of the site. This is NOT a political forum.

And I would think that, just possibly, the moderators are overwhelmed with all the BS from the birther crybabies. BTW, repeating a lie over and over does not make it true. Someone should tell WND that.

Unfortunately, voting doesn't mean much if you've been invaded by single-issue fanatics. One of the reasons that we are NOT a democracy.
