LET CITIZENS EXAMINE HOW MONEY IS SPENT BY GOVERNMENT AGENCIES ONLINE

Why Is This Idea Important?: Make more effective use of money being spent. Let people see "the big picture" like the cost of administering various programs. Allow challenges to expenditures. Reduce fraud and waste.

Require that government agencies publish online both their budget and balance sheet. This has been done effectively with some school districts. It saves money by reducing fraud and waste.
