Mr. President, where is your long form Birth Certificate
Mr. President could you please release to the public your official Birth Certificate? If you have nothing to hide regarding your Constitutional qualification as a "natural born citizen" to be president, why has there been so much money spent and effort made on your behalf to prevent the release of this information? Obviously you are hiding something. The American people have a right to have you vetted at least as much as you would scrutinize any appointee to your cabinet.

Why Is This Idea Important?

For the sake of our Constitution, the president must be willing to have this matter settled. There will be a major Constitutional crisis if it turns out that Mr. Obama was not qualified. This would be the first place to start with Government Transparency.

All other parties in the election submitted a long form birth showing hospital, doctor, and other information you did not what are you hiding? Also you should release your school records for the public to see and also on what passport did you travel to Pakistan in the 80's. (travel to this country was prohibited by the American government at that time.) If you do not release these documents it looks as if you are hiding something from the American people.

What 0bama needs to do to prove he is eligible:

1) Release the long form, vault copy of his birth certificate.

2) Release all college records to the public.

3) Show he has never been a citizen of Indonesia - as school records there show.

4) Tell us what passport he used to travel to Pakistan in the early 80's - when travel to Pakistan (or Pokeestan according to Zero) was restricted for US citizens.

Until then I will believe he is an usurper who needs to be removed from office and tried for his crimes against the country.

This isn't about his candacy. This is about working on harming credibility.

What people need to do is let him be. He has already been judged and elected with all issues known. Now let him manage and not spend his presidency distracted by people who would just like to remove him by putting in enough doubt and crap to damage politically enough to cause unnessary public crap e.g. like with Clinton.

You cant do anything in the USA with out proving your idenity. We have a man in the office of President and we know nothing about him. The Constitution says you have to be a Natural Born Citizen. So prove it. For those of you that find this a non issue let me remind you that, that same Constitution gives you the right to be oblivious and if one part is broken down all can be broken down. Read 5000 year leap for starters.

It is absoultely outrageous that someone who holds the job of President is unwilling to present his long form official birth certificate. Most jobs of any importance require this as a routine prerequisite and now we have a President who is so arrogant that he will use high priced lawyers to block the production of the document. If the certificate posted on his official website is authentic, then why is he spending thousands of dollars for lawyers to go through legal gymnastics to prevent the production of his long form certificate.

Another issue that needs attention is whether the actions by lawyers to prevent the production of this document is ethical. Any good lawyer would determine the underlying merit of the claim before using his legal ability to defend the matter. If the lawyers working for him know that he is not a natural born citizen and they are participating in this ongoing fraud, they are certainly committing an unethical act or an accessary to criminal fraud. If they have not bothered to determine the merits of the claim, they are incompetent. Remember, if the natural born citizen requirement is not being met by Pres. Obama, it is an ongoing, continuing violation and is made more egregious with every passing day. No one is authorized to facilitate another to commit an ongoing fraud.

“As I was drifting out to sea on a journey knowing not where I was going but I knew it was a journey I had to undertake to find a mystery called Socialism, Communism, Christian Black Liberation Theology and Islam these ideals would qualify me to become the next president of the U.S. And I knew I had to loose something along the way, well I actually had to loose my birth certificate to be more precise”

All we ask is for the long form, the one showing which hospital he was born in & the name of the delivery doctor.

Obama has the power to make all the doubters "shut up" by simply producing that one piece of paper. Instead, he has spent more money than he will make in the 1st 2 yrs of his presidential term to fight having to produce it in courts.

It makes no sense at all why he would do this if there is nothing to hide.

This is a serious Constitutional issue. The Obama administration has the ethical duty to release publicly and promptly all documentation relating to whether Obama meets the legal definition of a "natural born" citizen as mandated by the Constitution. Currently, the Obama administration is engaging in a Watergate-type stonewalling exercise to prevent public assess to relevant citizenship evidence. President Obama is no more above the law than was President Nixon. Such documentation would include at least Obama's long-form Hawaiian birth certificate, his passport records, his college and other school records relating to his citizenship and other relevant documents.

I too agree that it is IMPERATIVE that Mr. Obama show us his "long form" birth certificate in order to "settle" once and for all the issue of his eligibility under the Constitution to serve as President. If he really has nothing to hide, then releasing this information would resolve this issue once and for all. Failure to do so will only increase suspicion that he has usurped an office to which he is not legally entitled.

You are not above the law.

Show us your long form birth certificate so that we know whethjer or not you're an American citizen.

Continuing to spend millions of dollars to hie it only supports the idea that you are indeed a fraud intent on destroying American.

John McCain was required to produce his birth certificate before congress to prove he was elegible to run for President. It is imperative that Mr. Obama also provide the exact same evidence - NOT the certificate of Live Birth, BUT the actual Birth Certificate. Or do we not live in a country with equality under thelaw?

Most people who accept the Ceritifation of Birth on the web, assume that if Barack Obama was actually born in Hawaii... then he is a natural born citizen of the USA under the 14th Amendment.

But they do not truly understand what the terminology "natural born citizen" truly means, or indeed what it meant to the writers of the Constitution.

Two words you MUST understand with regard to "natural born citizen" are "allegiance" and "sovereignty". According to Senator John A. Bingham who WROTE the 14th Amendment here is what natural born citizen actually means.

Senator Bingham said while speaking about the rights of citizens in the U.S. House of Representatives on March 6, 1866 the following :

[I] find no fault with the introductory clause [S 61 Bill], which is simply declaratory of what is written in the Constitution, that every human being born within the jurisdiction of the United States of parents not owing allegiance to any foreign sovereignty is, in the language of your Constitution itself, a natural born citizen…. . . ”

- John Bingham in the United States House on March 9, 1866 (Cong. Globe, 39th, 1st Sess., 1291 (1866))

And furthermore, Senator Bingham's definition of "natural born citizen" is in direct keeping with the understanding of the writers of the Constituition, who had access and frequently reffered to Vattel's book "Law of Nations" which simply states

“ The natives, or natural born citizens, are those born in the country, of parents who are citizens “ and
“ I say that in order to be of the country, it is necessary that a person be born of a father who is a citizen, for if he is born of a foreigner, it will be only the place of his birth and not his country. “ (Emmerich Vatel - Law of Nations)

Barack Obama freely admits his father was a Kenyan and a subject of the Brittish Commonwealth at the time of Barack's birth. So Obama's father at the time of Barack Obama's birth, "owed allegiance to a foreign sovereignty" !!

This alone is enough to cause Barack Obama NOT to be a "natural born citizen" of the USA. If indeed born in Hawaii he might be a citizen... but would not qualify as a "natural born citizen".... and is therefore NOT qualified to seek or to hold the office of President under the Constitution Article 2 Section 1.

THEREFORE... Barack Obama LACKS any Constitutional authority for any of the actions he has taken as President.

UNFORTUNATELY... the press are oblivious to this plain simple fact, due to their enormous Obama worship. And the courts likewise refused to touch this "hot potato" issue. (to the Destructive Detriment of the Constitution and to the People and obviously to the nation.)

The Birth Certificate.... Is it relevant ? Well to the issue of eligibility Perhaps. But it IS relevant in this way.. Barack Obama has fought hard to keep it out of the sight of the public. This in itself might show attempts to conceal eligibility from the public.

SO... this IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE IN THE HISTORY OF THIS NATION..... AND IT IS NOT BEING REPORTED BY ANY MAJOR NEWS MEDIA.

Origins: In the first half of 2008, a number of rumors swirling around about presidential candidate Barack Obama coalesced in the claim that he "refused to produce his birth records" because doing so would demonstrate some or all of those rumors to be true: that Barack Obama was "not African, " that he was a Muslim with a middle name of Mohammed, that he wasn’t born in the United States at all (and thus didn’t qualify as a native-born citizen), etc.


In any event the rumormongers were likely to be disappointed. Information about religion and race, when it was collected for birth records, simply reflected
whatever the parents identified themselves to be; those values weren’t officially assigned to the newborn children as immutable labels. And of course, no infant
has any control over whatever names his parents choose for him.

As things turned out, when the Obama campaign made a copy of his Certification of Live Birth from the State of Hawaii available on the Internet in June 2008, it validated none of those rumors: The certificate shows his full name to be "Barack Hussein Obama II, " it lists his father’s race as "African" and his mother’s as "Caucasian, " it contains no information about religion, and it reports his birthplace as being Honolulu, Hawaii.

A number of self-proclaimed experts immediately seized the opportunity to pronounce the certificate a forgery (even though none of them had actually seen the original, just a scanned image of it), picking on such specious details as minor variations from other Hawaii-issued certificates and the lack of an embossed seal
and signature. (Some forgery claimants even maintained that the certificate was actually an altered version of one issued to Barack Obama’s half-sister, Maya.)
Aside from the inherent absurdity of such claims (i.e., that a major party presidential nominee would risk his entire candidacy on a fraud that could be uncovered simply by a check of state health records), the supposedly incriminating details don’t pan out: the certificate is consistent with others issued in the same time and place, and the embossed seal and signature don’t show through very well on the scanned front image made available on the Internet because they were applied to the back of the original document, not the front. Those who have actually touched and examined the original certificate have verified and documented that it bears all the elements of a valid certificate of live birth.

Moreover, both of Honolulu’s major newspapers (the Advertiser and the Star-Bulletin) published announcements in August 1961 documenting the birth, in Honolulu, of a son to "Mr. and Mrs. Barack H. Obama" on 4 August 1961:


In August 2008, Philadelphia attorney Philip Berg included claims of a forged certificate (among other rumors) as the basis for a suit in U.S. District Court challenging Barack Obama’s eligibility for the presidency on the grounds that Obama was actually born in Kenya (not Hawaii) and/or subsequently gave up his U.S. citizenship and thus does not qualify as a native-born citizen of the U.S. In October 2008 a federal judge dismissed the complaint:


In a 34-page memorandum and opinion, the judge said Berg’s allegations of harm were "too vague and too attenuated" to confer standing on him or any other voters.


Surrick ruled that Berg’s attempts to use certain laws to gain standing to pursue his claim that Obama was not a natural-born citizen were "frivolous and not worthy of discussion."

The judge also said the harm Berg alleged did "not constitute an injury in fact" and Berg’s arguments to the contrary "ventured into the unreasonable."


(A similar lawsuit was dismissed by a U.S. District Court judge in March 2009.)

Also in October 2008, Hawaiian officials reported that they had personally verified the existence of Barack Obama’s original birth certificate:

State officials say there’s no doubt Barack Obama was born in Hawaii.



Health Department Director Dr. Chiyome Fukino says she and the registrar of vital statistics, Alvin Onaka, have personally verified that the health department holds Obama’s original birth certificate.

Fukino says that no state official, including Gov. Linda Lingle, ever instructed that Obama’s certificate be handled differently from any other.

She says state law bars release of a certified birth certificate to anyone who does not have a tangible interest in it.

What republicans could not get at the polling, they are ingloriously seeking through blackmailing. I will advice you guys to go and read several literature written on this phenomenon of our time as he rose from grass to grace. Some of you did not even know how he became a SENATOR. You are not happy that this phenomenon is solving some of the huge problems you republicans created. If you are not happy, go to any river or sea or ocean around you and commit suicide. The change has come, you better embrace it. If you cannot, we CAN!!!!!!

To Richwestcott - Snopes has been found to be incorrect in some of their responses. Not only that, they post false and when you read the description the real question is not answered. Also Snopes is being investigated as to who they are, run by and supported by. Factcheck is also a new pop up that has not proven to be totally true.

Conspiracy theorists like this are the reason why this web dialogue should have lasted only a week. Early in this process almost all the comments were thoughtful and posted by people who have some knowledge about public engagement. Now the serious people have mostly moved on with their lives and the wingnuts have gotten wind of this and moved in to usurp what was a productive and focused discussion. Maybe there should be a general message board where people can post their random rants to minimize the impact on more focused and positive dialogues.
