The Constitution

Why Is This Idea Important?: This is important because if our government would have been following the Constitution in the first place we would not be in the pickle we are in now!

For our lawmakers to start following the constitution. And stop making silly laws all for political correctness. Political Correctness has hampered Common Sense.

You should have read my "Kill the Constitution" idea before you voted. This post of yours suggests you support a "dead" Constitution, too.

Dan, you are obviously a one-sentence-wonder who can make a judgment based on reading one sentence. My idea was intended for intelligent people. They would have gone beyond the first sentence and learned that "Kill the Constitution" was an attack on the concept of a "living Constitution" that supports re-interpreting the Constitution to fit the latest goals of our rulers. I support a "dead Constitution" that can't be changed on judicial or bureaucratic whim. My idea opposed "collaboration" between the federal, State, and Local governments because that will only mean more compliance with federal mandates. If you have an attention span greater than a third grader, go back and read it.

I think it is about time our government stop changing and adding to and altering the Constitution. There should not be a change on there that the people themselves did not have a chance to vote on. This crap of them voting to help their own causes and their own raises and anything that lines their pockets is getting way to old. It is time for the government of and by and for the people ....not the select few... and limited terms for senators is a good way to start... you know our early government had to have a job.. how many of todays government officials would be there for love of the country.... my guess is none would... if they had to have a job to pay their bills, they would think more about what they did with the money they were given to rule over. If they had to live by the same rules and laws they make for us...there would be money in the social security system. they are nothing but unconcerned overpaid hypocrites.. and they need to go back to the basics and start it over.. so they are not so full of themselves that they cant reach the people anymore.

For starters, the bureaucracy could enforce the laws on the books, rather than making a visible effort to do so by selectively enforcing them against political enemies. And not to come whining to Congress for more power & funding when some atrocity happens under their noses.

The constitution was a document to help us begin a new country. We had few ideas and many problems in the turmoil at our beginning. I'm sure that the founding fathers knew that as we grew and came to a better understanding of the country's problems and needs, that rational men could come to agreement to make changes when the majority clearly saw fit. I'm sure they saw the document's flaws, but also knew of the fractous nature of men, agreement to be reached in only the most general terms. the spirit that resides in the ape known as "buddy"
