The Federal Government is providing $6.4 billion for improving the environmental sustainablity of the nations schools. Portable classroom buildings are separate, distinct structures that present a unique oportunity for to meet the challenge. This proposal would help set a new national standard for school portables, making them far greener than standard construction. Since the cost of a portable classroom is far lower than the cost of a conventional fixed classroom, far more school districts could afford to pursue this method of "Greening". This would be an almost instantaneous way to reduce the carbon footprint of the nations ever expanding schools.
These could also be seen as a prototype structure for other types of portables.
