Making it easier to remain in school and harder to drop out.

Why Is This Idea Important?: Keeping kids in school is sooooooo important.

I'd like to brainstorm this but;

for me it would be easier to keep my kids in college if I didn't have to puzzle out the forms and if funding was available so I don't have to take money from retirement and use it for education.

But I believe its even more important to find ways to motivate kids to stay in school.

How about an allowance provided for children that remain in school that they lose when they drop out.

    How about their parents whooping their behinds if they skip school or drop out. This worked in my day. I was scared to death of skipping school for fear that my dad would take the belt to my behind...and there is not one darned thing wrong with punishing your child with a belt on the behind or a slap on the cheek if they sass. This is how the best generations grew up and were respectful of others. You can see just how respectful kids of today are, this is because of stupid special interest groups from the left who want to cry "abuse" to anything a parent does with their own child. I don't agree with abuse at all, but there is a big difference between punishing for a wrondoing and abusing for the fun of it.

    Whatever $ amount that is, even $1 per year, should go first to the schools themselves and the oversight making sure those dollars are actually used to productive, not bureaucratical, ends. For example new computers might be buzzworthy, but what a school might really need is a better student-teacher ratio or just newer textbooks.

    PUT IT ON THE PARENTS..STRICTER LAWS AGAINST PARENTS WHOSE CHILDREN ARE NOT REGULARLY IN SCHOOL..first the parents split up, the kids suffer emotionally, start skipping, WHEN THEY ARE SO OFTEN ABSENT FROM CLASS they cannot catch up...so they just skip more...school is even more stressful now, now they really don't want to go..they fail, are now a year behind all of their friends, if it continues, they drop out...maybe they get pregnant early, maybe we will need to support them, boy, this puts a hurting on our budget deficits huh? anyone else see this going on in their neighborhoods? LETS BACK UP A MOMENT, if a child is not coming regularly to school, it is time to counsel the parents...maybe they are going through trying times and could use some guidance, life is hard...but, we cannot continue to let these kids fall through the cracks ANYMORE! God Bless

  4. This is ridiculous... School should not even be mandatory. Come on... people need choices to live as they please. If a College aged person is not serious about his education, then let him fail.... like we should have let GM fail... etc. It is time for personal responsibility and stop bailing people out and bribing people to do what it right!

    We'll need the drop-outs to fill the jobs left by illegal aliens when we pass nationwide employer verification.

    Oh wait, that won't happen.

    Whether you pay for them to remain in school, on welfare or in prison sooner or later your going to pay. I choose school when you still have an opportunity to change the behavior responsible.
