This administration is getting "too big for their britches." The founding fathers created our government to have very little impact on the people and to remain small and out of the private sector. Over time it has become more expanded and is invading our private lives more and more. The ONLY sector that is prospering job-wise is the government. Our president is making more and more departments and then is hiring "czars" to over see the private sectors and different departments. This is not something the American people want or need. The government needs to STOP with all the excess spending and hiring of Russian "czars" (this reeks of communism) and start giving that "stimulus" money that was so important to steal from us to the people and NOT to congress and the senate to do with what they please. NO TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION. I do NOT want my taxes paying for special interest programs that I don't agree with and these need to be banned. I DO NOT want my taxes going to funding excess, non-issue projects that can go through regular appropriatoins. I honestly feel what this president has done so far is to actually steal from the American people to pay off political organizations who have supported them and this is a criminal act. I do NOT support what is happening in this administration.

Why Is This Idea Important?

When government is limited they cannot intrude on the taxpayers and citizens of the United States which will leave the people in control who will decide which businesses will succeed and which will fail which will have saved trillions of dollars and would have built up better companies from those fallen, with better commodities.

YES.

Even though I voted for Obama and continue to hope he will bring some good change for our future.

I voted for Obama because we needed to change our handling of foreign affairs, stop lying to the American public, and regain the confidence of our allies. Also, because he is a smart, articulate man. Because he is well-versed in Constitutional Law and We Need That. And because Senator McCain seemed far too close to Bush "hawkishness," and showed exceedingly poor judgment in selecting Gov. Pain.

I voted for Obama IN SPITE OF my concerns about overspending on domestic concerns.

I'm feeling the same apprehensions lately that I felt when President Bush took us into war in Iraq - a feeling of "I sure hope he knows what he's doing because it looks like a Very Bad idea from here."

My instincts were right on the Iraq War - and Bush was lying to us all along about the "evidence" he had to support his actions.

My instincts are telling me now that we are spending too much to bail out companies that should be allowed to fail. Private responsibility for success OR failure is fundamentally necessary for our free-market economy. Also, HUGE concerns over how health care reform will look - though I do agree reform is needed.

Am disappointed so far in the politically polarized battles. Push for more bi-partisan effort to reduce spending and balance our budget, reduce spending, then reduce taxes to stimulate our struggling economy.

Chloe - based on your overall tone, I suspect we have our political differences. However, we do share some common ground on this issue.

Hopefully our leaders can set likewise set aside their differences and seek out common ground to, as you suggest, start LIMITING GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS (spending) and leave that to the more effective private sector. THEN LET THE PRIVATE SECTOR BE PRIVATE and stop dumping public tax dollars into bailouts.

Of course there are plenty of countries that have higher taxes and more robust social safety nets like national health care. I don't know...maybe you'd rather live in Chad, Bolivia or Guatamala than Denmark or Sweden or Switzerland or Canada or New Zealand so you could have your "free market paradise". But why don't you go there instead of bringing that failed ideology here.

You mean locking them up with out trials or do you mean "sneak and peek" search warrants the government never has to show your defense counsel or do you mean recording every single phone call in this country into a database the governemnt can access whenever someone "blows the whistle" on government misdeeds or warantless wiretaps? Just which intrusion are you babbling about here?

Can I remind you how badly the limited government crowd got creamed last election. It is the wingnuts who still think their idiology holds water - even though it has failed over and over and over - that are too big for their britches.

The fact is if you look at job creation numbers of every administration going back to FDR you will find that every democrat outperformed every republican in job creation. Every democrat left office with lower unemployment than every republican - except Reagan left one term with lower unemployment than one democrat...Jimmy Carter.

By the way, Jimmy Carter's administration created over 10 million jobs. Compare that to the "cut taxes on the rich and they will hire lots of workers" administration of George W Bush. He actually lost jobs in his first term. He was the first president ever to do so since records have been kept.

"So the tax cuts took a while to work" you say? His second term, even with massive defense spending was an anemic 3 million jobs created...still among the worst job creation records since FDR.

I don't want my taxes going to Halliburton, Blackwater, Iraq, Bechtel, nuclear weapons, space weapons, depleted uranium bombs, cluster bombs, chemical weapons sold to Saddam, tax breaks for the wealthy, warrantless surveilance, torture, holding prisoners of war without Geneva Conventions protection and/or due process of law...and on and on.

But I don't hear you whining about those. I don't hear you saying "these need to be banned." You want the power to stop the stimulus package. You want the power to stop infrastructure building, job creation, health care spending, extending unemployment benefits, propping up state budgets allowing them to keep teachers and firefighters and police working as the property tax base that normally funds these services is decimated.

It is representative democracy and if you don't like it you can move to Chad or Bolivia where the government stays out of the way of the wealthy.

The fact is this administration doesn't need your support. It doesn't need to ask permission from wingnut kooks for social spending...because the vast majority of people DO support this administration and they DO want to see it succeed. The VAST majority of people in this country WITNESSED what happens when the "limited" government crowd gets in office and they don't like it.

The Stimulus Plan for our Economy should be or should have been---All Debts are cancelled as of January 21, 2009. All debts to financial institutions, for ie. mortgages, student loans, car loans, etc. are cancelled. All payroll taxes will cease for one year. No Income Taxes for five years; better yet, The IRS is abolished immediately. Now, go spend YOUR money. Your economy needs the boost!

The Obama administration is excercising authority beyond the powers granted in The Constitution. We are a republic that has a free market system. Nowhere in the Constitution is the Government authorized to takeover private companies,set pay for executives, fire CEO's or determine what position legal bond holders will get in a settlement. They have completely disregarded the rule of law concerning bankrupcy procedures. The U.S. taxpayer is now funding bonus's, bailouts, TARP payments, and Stimulus payments. All of this was done without the public's being considered and against the will of the people.The Government now runs the nations private banks and the mortgage industry and the auto industry.The mainstream media has a love affair with Obama and is basically the propaganda component, completing the circle. They control the media, banking and industry. All in just over a 100 days. We are moving at an accelerated rate towards Socialist society. Even Pravda sees it clearly and has reported it as such. Everything the Founders were concerned about and warned of is coming to pass. The Bill of Rights and The Constitution are being eroded on a daily basis. Obama and Pelosi have sacrificed our national security in order to seek revenge against political rivals. Our enemies know we have weak leadership and they are moving to exploit it. We are in grave danger.

Wrong. Congress gave the Administration that power in approving the bailouts. The Supreme court is where it will be decided whether or not it's constitutional, and that case won't ever be brought because it is not in the bailed out industries best interest to bring that case.

When taxpayers become owners of a company, guess what...they have a right to protect their investment. If that means firing CEOs and limiting compensation - TOO F___ING BAD!!! Show me where in the constitution it say that the government cannot regulate compensation or nationalize failed companies in the interest of society.

And by the way, doesn't it bother you knuckle-dragging creeps at all when you listen back to the video tape recordings of Bush and Cheney and Rumsfeld denying a torture policy and calling enlisted soldiers who carried out those policies "a few bad apples," when the whole time they sanctioned all these techniques? The only thing more "stunning" is the fact that wherever you think you got an education from, they obviously owe you money. Because you fail miserably. Fascism along with Socialism,Communism or any totalitarian form of Goverenment is left of the political center. They are control forms of Gov closely related. Anarchy ( No Government) is the extreme right. The Republic of the U.S. is center. Fascism or what you think is fascism is a leftist form of Gov. Todays "Progressives" are directly linked to that history. From Woodrow Wilson and FDR their platforms and "reforms" are very closely aligned with Mussolini, and yes Adolph Hitler ( I'm sure your head just exploded). Both of which ran reforms simular to the New Deal. Of course the left will claim it is a right wing group, but that is not what the facts show. The left does not want to be associated with Hitler because of the Holocaust. That was born out of Hitler's meglomania and radical hatered of the Jews. But, setting that aside for a moment and looking at the common bonds of Fascism the history clearly puts in the linage of the left or todays progressive movement. As much as you deny it, the record indicate otherwise. That's why the left are so dismissive about the subject, They pass the blame so as not to be labeled or associated with the Nazi's.
