Voter Qualification

Why Is This Idea Important?: A Conflict of Interest Voter Disqualification policy would prevent votes from being purchased outright by employers, interest groups and dividend-paying corporations with business before Congress, by disqualifying conflicted voters from voting for candidates or on initiatives where a proven conflict exists.

Conflicts of interest prevent Judges and Lawyers from working on cases where they have a personal interest. Conflicts of Interest prevent many parties from entering into business arrangements, etc.

Voters should be pre-qualified by employment and income sources electronically, and in the case of conflict of interest, disqualified from voting for particular initiatives or candidates with whom they have a conflict of interest.

So basically you you are saying that anyone that receives, Welfare, Social Security, Medicare, Federal pensions, federally subsidized student loans, federal grants, etc. basically shouldn't be allowed to vote as they have a conflict of interest with just but every issue that comes under discussion at the federal level.

Although it might sound attractive to you, Robert, this goes against everything America was founded on and the entire civil rights movement.

Voter qualification tests have been used repeatedly in the past to block groups of people from having representation in government. Any deviation from "one person, one guaranteed, secret, vote" is anti-American.

  3. There is another way to keep elections free of special interest domination.
