I have a great idea to help balance out the federal budget, avoiding excessive deficits year after year. DON'T WASTE TAXPAYER DOLLARS ON WEBSITES LIKE THIS ONE, where people just waste everyone's time with posts arguing for the legalization of pot and/or other foolish pet projects.
If anyone has an idea worth while, they can call/write their Congressman/Congresswoman as is proper.

Lol. Have you ever tried to contact YOUR congressman/woman? Did they find your one communication out of the 100,000s they get every month? More importantly, do you donate more than all their other donors, and in so doing actually get them to achieve anything?
Face it. We need to make some radical changes to enforce our republic's ability to respond and perform in the interests of the *REAL* economy of the country (you know, it's citizens, you and me :D )
Until then, we are all just out of luck as far as being actually represented by and in our government.
Since every representative in this country represents some 650,000 constituents in their district, your voice is not heard.
We need better representation. New ones have not been added as the population increased over the years as required by the Constitution.

Damned cheap way to give a voice to citizens if you ask me. Don't be naive and think that the highest voted idea will just automatically become law, this is an official citizen's brainstorm. Talk about open government, hallelujah.
I properly wrote my representatives and said any voting yes for giving money away to corporations would get them fired.
One sent back a form letter telling me how wonderful it was to give money away to corporations.
Difficult to think that works.
