Minimum Waiting Time Before Spending Bills Are Voted On

Why Is This Idea Important?: It is only fair that the PEOPLE understand what their congress and senate are voting on. Let's stop pulling the wool over the publics eyes!

I believe that there should be a minimum waiting time, say at least 48 hours, before spending bills are voted on in congress (both house and senate).

The last spending bill was voted on less than 12 hours before being voted on. The result? AIG Bonuses!!!!!

Why the rush? Afraid the bill will be fully vetted in the public forum?

    Interesting. I like it.

Of course, Obama promised transparency for each pending bill for X days before he signs them, and has only broken that promise 10+ times since taking office...so it seems that even if this proposal was enacted, I wouldn't expect those in Washington to actually follow it.
