Green Initiative

Why Is This Idea Important?: It helps fund new energy and puts energy ownership into the American people's hands. It challenges oil companies to lower prices. Only those interested would be financially involved.

A government initiative to begin wind and solar energy funded by the sale of stock on the exchange. Stock ownership is limited to individuals with a max of 100 shares per person. Energy produced would be sold into the grid at a cost 10% below fossil fuels. Profits would be reinvested except for a dividend of no more than 15% annualy paid to the stockholders.

If wind and solar generated electricity could be sold at 10% below the cost of electricity generated by fossil fuels, at a profit and pa a 15% dividend, wind and solar farms would be springing up around this country so fast it would make your head swim.

The only way wind and solar will provide a significant amount of our electricity in the near future is with massive subsidies paid for by the taxpayer and higher rates paid by the consumer. I prefer to avoid both of these.

Yes, let's see - Our POTUS says that it's ok for IRAN to have Nuclear power but in the US we need to do only do Wind and Solar and pay way more for our energy.

Why should we HATE America so much. I love my country. This GREEN movement is becoming a religion - how come we only hear about separation of Church and State when it comes to Christianity? While the latest hippie religion is fine for to become an integrated part of our government?

I and all sane, citizens are all for polluting less but not without at least some rational consideration of the expense.

A lot of our citizens and politicians seem to think that America's bank account is unlimited. We can just do what they consider the "right thing" and never consider the long term costs.

Well I'm here to tell you - the cost of every "right now thing" is going to erode our Civil Society to the point where we are no longer free.

We need to return to the Constitution and stop letting the Federal government legislate things that are completely out of their purview.
