Make bills in Congress and Senate open to public vote everyday..kinda like we are doing now..or watching C-Span call in lines on issues of the day....Instead of contacting our Repersentives we could vote electronicly or by phone for pple w/o a computer..Watching these guys talk for hours and getting nothing done is enoying...some sessions with no-one listening...may be able to get more done...if they know pple are paying attention...

EXCELLENT IDEA...And how about a 2nd Constitutional Convention to establish a House of Free Persons, including all adults who can pass our Immigration Exams.
We elect representatives and pay them to do the business of government so that we have the time to work, raise our families and basically live our lives. Institue this and you have a royal mess on your hands as only those with the time and access will have a voice. What about those who are poor and don't have easy access to the internet?
developing a cheap device to allow very adult to view and vote on laws should be fairly easy.... the House of Free Persons (it really doesn't need a name)could simply have the power to veto or approve laws, elective wars, and large budget expenditures by a supermajority. as long as the laws stand alone and are plainly stated, i don't see a negative there; besides bills being slowed down by public debate. though, i couldn't see why a simply stated bill should take too long to read and consider.without a supermajority veto, the bill would simply pass.
but every law should be carefully considered by those who live under them.
The Supreme Court and Constitution are in place to ensure the majority does not harm the minority with its votes.
your idea is awesome, i just think we need more direct democracy along side a strong Supreme Court.
I like the idea of direct Democracy, unfortunately, it can get mucky if people over simplify the process. Democracy, is a fairly complex set of guidelines that somehow maintains balance. A nation simply decreeing, "let's all be a group", has never worked out so well. The current confidential voting system for candidates is reliable. Internet voting, even for issues, is not reliable (because of wiretapping combined with the nation's current levels of fear about expressing opinions on certain issues. Remember, the entire nation of Iraq voted for Saddam. If an incident like this happened on one issue, it would be downhill from there. Unconfidential votes are 100% percent meaningless, even misleading, when people are scared, whether or not that fear is justified or legitimate.)
