Show Me the Money

Why Is This Idea Important?: It's the people's money so why shouldn't they be able to easily find out where it is being spent? Besides, it's harder to do a Madoff when the books are online and accessible to everyone. As I stated, there should be some obvious exceptions but very few for security reasons. Even the CIA coould show how much they get but not necessarily any detail on what it is spent on - unless their budget is so huge that it would cause embarrassment to the government.

With a very few exceptions (perhaps the CIA and NSA, etc.) where does the money the government spend come from and where does it go.

This could be a simple bookkeeping page that shows, in simplified form, the 'books' of the federal government. This information can include links if a person wanted more detail on a particular line item.
