We as Americans need to stop guzzling and wasting gas and oil, when there are other alternatives that are renewable. Public buses and such should be electric/solar powered or any other type of renewable energy to show the public that they work and are safe for all. That would then show everyone that we are ready for vehicles with the same technology. We have had such public transportation in the past, and we have always had the technology for it. Since we are in America the land of the free, we should have the choice of what kind of vehicles we want, but public transportation is funded by we the taxpayers, and should be more cost effective with renewable energies!

Additionally, we could start utilizing our railroad systems for freight, instead of much of our goods being hauled by trucks, which would cut carbon emissions substantially.
If we shift the tax credit revenues afforded the homeowners who implement certain renewable energy technologies to the solar contractors for the sole purposes of training prospective new employees of the coming green economy, this would significantly spur economic growth, environmental cleanup, and energy independence simultaneously. The applications of these technologies are as endless as I hope the solar energy we all depend upon in the first place.
Alternative energy buses would also eliminate their noise pollution.
Introduce more small buses into bus fleets, since 95% of their current capacity is unused on many routes. It makes no sense to see empty buses spewing so much carbon.
Alternative energy for buses would also target the largest vehicles for reduction of carbon footprint. The same technology could be utilized for trash and utility trucks, so there will be a market beyond the government for manufacturers.
These are all great ideas, and please forward this website to as many people as you can so that more people can comment and vote on this!
