Encourage, support, and fund interagency initiatives, programs, and projects

Why Is This Idea Important?: Interagency partnering and collaboration will help leverage resources, improve coordination and communication, avoid duplication of effort, and help solve the complex problems we're facing.

The current budgeting and funding of agency programs and projects inhibits and even discourages interagency partnering and collaboration. Let's offer incentives and provide options to make it easier for federal agencies to work collaboratively with one another.

    Have a look at the National Interagency Fire Center: http://www.nifc.gov/ They already coordinate multiple federal, state, local, and even international agencies together--why not look at their successes?

    I have been at 4 different agencies and have held 7 different position series (within 12 years). It's easy to do if you promote your 'soft-skills' in your resume and KSA' rather than focusing on your technical abilities.
