Do this again - but with better communication

Problem: Minimal advance public notice of Open Government Dialogue and the brief period allowed for comments mean that many Americans will be precluded from participating.

Proposed solution: To get the full benefit of citizens' experiences, wisdom and ingenuity, Open Government Dialogue should be repeated - next time with plenty of public notice and a generous response time - at least as much as provided under standard rulemaking.

I agree with the better communication part. And I think that there is much to be learned from observing this communication beyond how this exchange of ideas was initiated and primed.

yes, more front-end notice, especially about the short comment time.

No on a longer comments process.

Government takes ten times as long as any rational person would to do things. If we, as a people, can't learn to get our own personal acts together and respond on a timely basis, things are only going to get worse.

  3. I agree to an extent, but if this were open too long and promoted too much it would be flooded with rants and other non-relevant unhelpful "ideas."

  4. Right on. This is at best a terribly executed endeavor and at worst a deliberate joke on the public.

I don't know that this needs to be done "again." Perhaps it should be online for a long time. The point, though, was that there needs to be more advertisement of this resource; and I support that.

This was done so poorly it is difficult to conceive of it as an honest effort at open government.

Next time, use a government web site. There is no reason for using this type of web site.

Plan it with knowledge of internet culture...compare...this one which was clueless in design and faulty in execution and response.

Use published, open-source code so people with real know-how can assist.

Challenge, strongly, any invoice received from this company. It was not earned.
