Educating the Public about Using This Technology

Why Is This Idea Important?: It is important that the government heard from all segments of the population.

There is a significant disparity in people’s ability to use this type of technology. While it may seem simple to us to use it, many people don’t consider using it. So those people will just not participate in efforts that require using this type of technology. Open Government include educating the public on using this technology. When large segments of the population don’t participate in an effort, the results may not reflect the views of the population.

    Not so much using such technology, but on how to understand complicated issues. The people developing the sites need to be held accountable for not presenting DATA, but rather presenting usable, digestable information, e.g. graphs, trends, etc., not gigs of random data.

    The public needs to learn how to pay attention to complex information. Maybe grass roots town meetings to analyze the information.
