Government building energy efficiency

Why Is This Idea Important?: It would save a large amount of electricity and therefore also help the environment and our dependence on foreign oil.

I would recommend installing electric smart meter technology in each federal building and appoint one employee to monitor and attempt to reduce the building's energy use. This could be the first stage in a larger process of installing solar panels on all federal buildings.

    Shouldn't the dep. of Energy be doing this already? But they don't and quite frankly they don't do anything so lets save the tax payers $$$$$ by abolishing carters failed dep of energy?
